Zenit forward Andrey Vorontsevich shared his thoughts after the first game of the VTB United League semifinal series against UNICS, which ended in a 107-104 overtime loss. He addressed what his team lacked to secure the win.
“It’s important to understand that every possession, every rebound, and every mistake is priceless right now. There are no games where the point difference matters—it’s all about winning. So we need to get ready for the next game and keep our spirits up. We’ll review the mistakes, analyze them, and get back into action. Playing here is never easy; we’re up against a strong opponent. But today we showed some really good basketball.
It was a pleasure to play and watch such a match, but still, we have to set our minds only on victory and focus on team play. If we stick together, play balanced, with patience, and move the ball from one side to the other, everything will work out. So, we go to battle. Now it’s time to rest, and the day after tomorrow, we go to battle again,” Vorontsevich said in an interview with Championship correspondent Arina Ershova.
