SoftBank announced on May 12 that it has finalized a two-for-one trade with the DeNA BayStars. The deal sends pitcher Takato Ogata (26) and infielder Tomoya Inoue (23) to DeNA in exchange for catcher Yudai Yamamoto (27). Yamamoto, a primary catcher for DeNA, brings solid defensive skills and experienced leadership behind the plate. Ogata, a promising right-handed reliever, and Inoue, a versatile infielder with upside, will provide depth for the BayStars. The trade reflects SoftBank’s aim to bolster their catching corps while DeNA adds young talent to their roster. Both teams are expected to benefit as they adjust their lineups for the remainder of the season.
