Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah remains a top target for Saudi Arabian clubs as the next transfer window approaches, with reports indicating strong interest from the Saudi Pro League.
The Liverpool forward has already announced his departure from Anfield at the end of the current season, following a mutual agreement with the club that allows him to leave on a free transfer in exchange for waiving his remaining salary.
According to UK-based Sky Sports, the financial resources necessary to secure a major deal for Salah are still available within the Saudi league, highlighting that the Egyptian star is the competition’s primary objective for the upcoming period.
The network added that Al-Ittihad had previously attempted to sign Salah a few years ago with a massive offer reaching £150 million, posing the question: “Why wouldn’t a Saudi club try to sign him now on a free transfer?”
Sky Sports noted that the Saudi Pro League recently announced a new financing model related to player acquisition mechanisms, which aims to distribute financial resources more fairly among clubs without affecting the league’s ability to attract global stars.
The report confirmed that funds remain available when it comes to high-profile players like Salah, emphasizing that the Saudi government is still committed to the football development project within the kingdom and to enhancing the league’s global standing.
This interest persists despite reports and analyses indicating a slight decline in Salah’s performance this season with the Reds, as Saudi clubs continue to view him as a marquee signing.
