Yekaterinburg’s Ural and Volgograd’s Rotor will compete in the promotion playoffs for a spot in the Russian Premier League (RPL) for the 2026/27 season, as the end of the First League season approaches.
On Friday, Moscow’s Rodina and Voronezh’s Fakel secured direct promotion to the RPL, both finishing with 65 points. They occupy the top two positions in the First League table with one round remaining.
Ural sits third with 58 points, while Rotor is fourth with 53 points. Chelny’s KAMAZ (49 points) and Kostroma’s Spartak (48 points) could potentially leapfrog into fourth place, but neither club has obtained the necessary license for RPL participation.
In the playoffs, Ural and Rotor will play two matches each against the teams that finish 13th and 14th in the RPL. After 28 rounds, Orenburg holds the 13th spot, while Makhachkala’s Dynamo occupies 14th place.
